Privacy Policy

Sanketana School of Code
Last updated: 1 September 2026 · Effective from: January 2020

We are a school. Most of the people we hold information about are children. That single fact shapes everything below, and it’s why this policy is written to be read rather than skimmed past.

If you have a question this page doesn’t answer, write to contact@sanketana.com and a person will reply.

1 · Who we are

Sanketana School of Code
Bhartiya City, Bangalore 560064, India
contact@sanketana.com · +91 96323 21212

We are the data fiduciary (data controller) for the information described in this policy.

2 · Whose information we hold

Parents and guardians — the person who enquires, enrols, pays and receives updates.

Students — children, typically aged 8 to 18, and a small number of adult learners.

Website visitors — anyone who browses this site or books a call.

Where the student is a minor, the parent or guardian is the person who consents on their behalf. We do not enrol a child without a parent or guardian, and we do not act on a child’s instruction about their own data.

3 · What we collect, and why

From parents and guardians

What Why
Name, email address, phone number To contact you, schedule classes, and send after-class notes
Billing details and payment records To process fees and maintain accounts
Country and timezone To schedule classes at a workable hour
What you tell us on the discovery call To place your child correctly and match a teacher

From and about students

What Why
Name and date of birth To identify the student and pitch teaching at the right level
Class schedule, attendance and progress notes To run the school and report to you
Work the student produces — code, projects, screenshots To teach, to assess, and to present at culminations
Class recordings (video and audio) So the family can revisit a lesson, and for teaching quality
Photographs and clips from culminations Only where the family has separately agreed — see section 6

Automatically, when you use this website

Standard technical information: IP address, browser and device type, pages visited, and referring site. We use this to understand how the site is used and to keep it working. We do not build advertising profiles, and we do not run behavioural advertising of any kind — including any directed at children.

4 · Payment information

Fees are processed by Razorpay, a third-party payment gateway. Card numbers and banking credentials are entered on their systems and are never seen or stored by us. We retain a record that a payment was made, its amount and date, which we are required to keep for accounting and tax purposes.

5 · Class recordings

Every class is recorded. This is deliberate and it works in your family’s favour: nothing about a Sanketana class happens behind a closed door.

6 · Photographs, clips, and your child’s work

This is the section most parents care about, so it is stated plainly.

Nothing goes public without your written permission. Every culmination photograph, project screenshot and video clip that appears on our website or social channels was shared after an explicit, per-family agreement — not a clause buried in an enrolment form.

Permission is specific. Agreeing to a photograph does not agree to a video clip. Agreeing to a project screenshot does not agree to a recording of your child speaking. We ask separately for each.

We publish first names only. Never surnames, never schools, never anything that would let a stranger identify or locate a child. Where we mention a location, it is a country or city, never an address.

Student work belongs to the student. Where we show a project, the description is the student’s own words, published as written.

You can change your mind at any time. One message to contact@sanketana.com or on WhatsApp, and your child’s images come down from our website and our social channels. No explanation needed, no delay.

7 · Who we share information with

We do not sell, rent or trade personal information. Ever.

We share it only with the services that run the school:

Service What for
Zoho Student records, scheduling, the student portal, accounting
Zoom Delivering and recording live classes
Razorpay Processing fee payments
Calendly Booking discovery calls
Google Business email and productivity tools
Google Analytics Counting visits to this website, so we know which pages help
Vercel Hosting this website

Each of these processes information on our instructions, under their own security obligations. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.

Some of these services operate outside your country, which means information may be processed abroad. Where that happens, we rely on the provider’s contractual safeguards.

8 · How long we keep things

What How long
Class recordings One month on the portal
Student records and progress notes While the student is enrolled, and for a reasonable period afterwards in case the family returns
Payment and accounting records As long as tax and company law require
Published photographs and clips Until you ask us to remove them
Enquiries that don’t become enrolments Up to two years, then deleted

9 · Your rights

You can ask us to:

Write to contact@sanketana.com. A person will reply — not a form. We aim to respond within seven days, and will always respond within thirty.

Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection Act, the EU/UK GDPR, Singapore’s PDPA, or your local law. We will honour these regardless of which applies.

10 · Security

We keep information on established platforms with access limited to the people who need it — the founder, the school’s administrators, and the teacher who teaches your child. Teachers see only their own students.

No system is perfectly secure, and we won’t claim otherwise. If a breach ever affects your family’s information, we will tell you promptly and directly.

11 · Cookies

This website uses only what it needs to function and to understand basic traffic. We do not use advertising cookies, tracking pixels for ad networks, or cross-site profiling. You can block cookies in your browser; parts of the site may then behave oddly.

The traffic measurement is Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Between them they record which pages are visited, roughly where in the world from, what kind of device, and which links are clicked — so we can tell which pages actually help a family decide. We do not use them to build advertising audiences, and nothing they collect is joined to your child’s records in the student portal.

Both can be blocked with any standard content blocker, and neither is required for the site to work.

Some pages link outward — to a student’s Scratch project, a public code repository, a Google reviews page. Once you leave our site, that site’s privacy practices apply, not ours.

13 · Changes to this policy

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top. If a change materially affects how we handle your family’s information, we will tell you directly rather than relying on you noticing.
