Anyone can write a philosophy page. Ours is only worth reading because every belief below is paired with something we actually do, every week, that you can verify.
Coding is a craft, not a subject.
A subject is completed. A craft is practiced, corrected, and passed down — from someone who has it to someone acquiring it. We run Sanketana the way crafts have always been taught: patiently, personally, over years.
Every course ends in a culmination — a live presentation where the student demonstrates and defends what they built, to their family. Not a certificate in the mail. A moment, witnessed.

The same teacher, across years, comes to know how a child thinks — which mistake means tiredness and which means a breakthrough is close. No content library can know that. So we invest in teachers who stay, and students who stay with them.
Teacher–student relationships at Sanketana run up to four years and counting. When a child moves from Scratch to Python, the same teacher makes the jump with them — because she knows exactly which concepts the child already owns.
Meet themThinking is more valuable than output.
AI has made output cheap. What it hasn't made cheap: knowing what's worth building, whether an answer is right, and what good looks like. We assess the thinking — live, in conversation — not the artifact alone.
Culminations are viva voce — the student answers questions about their choices. "Why this chart? Why this data structure? What happens when it fails?" Students choose their own project subjects, so the thinking is theirs from the first decision.

We are not a platform, a funnel, or a volume business. Depth doesn't scale on demand — so we've chosen its constraints deliberately: few teachers, long relationships, and enrolment that pauses when our teachers are at sustainable load.
We track every teacher's load against a sustainable ceiling and stop selling seats a market can't absorb — even when families are waiting. A tired teacher can't pass down a craft.
“Why learn to code, when AI writes it?”
We won't dodge this — it's the right question, and it deserves a straight answer.
What AI has changed
- Syntax is cheap. Memorizing language rules is no longer the skill.
- Boilerplate is free. Routine code gets generated in seconds.
- Speed is table stakes. Anyone can produce something that runs.
What AI hasn't changed
- Judgment. Deciding what's worth building, and for whom.
- Verification. Knowing whether the machine's answer is actually right.
- Taste. Recognizing the difference between working and good.
So we teach AI in a sequence, not as a shortcut.

The ten-year ambition is a studio-model school for K–12 computing: a handful of small studios worldwide, each capped in size, each measured by one thing only — the quality of its graduates. We'd rather be spoken of the way people speak of a great music school than a great app.
